Bike accessories ...

You may have a bicycle already, but certain additions to your bike will make it safer, more comfortable and more useful. Every bike can benefit from the following:

  • Racks, bags, baskets and panniers, even trailers can enhance the load carrying capacity of a bike, making it viable for trips to the grocery market or work.
  • Fenders kan keep you and your bike cleaner and drier, and reduce the frequency of maintenance.
  • Lights and reflectors are important safety components and essential for riding at night.
  • Although not a substitution for common sense, a helmet can help protect what makes you who you are.
  • A bell is a courteous and cheerful way to signal to pedestrians and other riders. Every bike should have one.
  • A good cable or u-lock can help keep your bike where you want it.

With thoughtful application of the above equipment, it is possible to improve the utility of almost any bike. A good local bike shop can help you find what you need. Some possible sources:

eBay If you can't find what you need on eBay, it may not be available anywhere. It is possible to find good, cheap bikes here, but shipping can be expensive and unless you know exactly what you're looking for, testing and sizing can be an issue.
